No {person} is an island
If you are a member of my family, a friend, a friend of the family, the family or friend of a friend, or someone I met along the way, welcome.
It'll be another month before I actually get on my bike in Seattle and point it eastward (or northward, or whichever way I start out), but I've already learned a lot just in talking with you about my crazy idea. Thank you for your support and encouragement, your concerns, advice and stories.
A request - if you know anyone who knows anyone who lives somewhere near the Trans-American bike route, please let me know! Doctored map courtesy of adventure cycling. Thanks again, and keep an eye on this space...

Yea, Mimi!!! We are very excited for you AND even though it's about the journey, not the destination, are thrilled to be your final (for the time being) destination. We think you're awesome!!

Kim,
I am thinking about often these last few days before your adventure. I am so in awe of your adventurous spirit. You have the admiration and love and virtual power of all of us who are home in our "soft" lives.
Have a great time!
Love,
Bonnie
